Epic waves!!!!!!

I checked the waves early this morning to find an epic swell, 5FT solid groundswell with a stiff offshore breeze.I took a couple of these photos and opted to wait for the lower tide as it was a bit high.I was in the middle of laying some drains and phil called me ,'Drop what youre doing its barrelling off its head!!!'.10 mins later i was looking at 6ft + solid ,well overhead, serious perfect barrells.OMG!!!!22° beautifully sunny andJust phil and i for two hours ,we both had plenty of bombs, in a sesion that was probably the solidest , roundest barrells since i've beeen here.Very long and not all makeable ,but if you had the right one it was worth copping a beating for.

I'll sleep well tonite

Spring is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a difference a week makes

Last wednesday it was -2° and snowing, today we have a magnificent 21°,absolutely beautiful weather with more to come.WINTER IS OVER!!!!!

There hasnt been very many waves the last coulpe of weeks ,just getting in the water once a week is not enough. Not much in quantity but the quality has been exceptional.

Been cutting the hedges here before they grow too much more and i am getting ready to level up the yard a bit and get some topsoil in so i can sow some lawn.I'm also doing a bit of painting in between.I must get some gutters on the roof soon too, that means digging some trenches for the runoff pipes before i get the dirt

Wedding Anniversary

I just rembered our 3rd wedding anniversary today!!!
Corinne wouldnt have remembered as we both get it wrong every year
I'll surprise her when she gets home from work

More good waves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went for a surf late yesterday arvo and had one of the best sessions i've had since i've been here.Wasnt quite as big as i wanted ,chest to head high, but quality as good as i've ever seen anywhere!!!Supersucky fast barrelling peaks that were unmakable unless your were in the barrel.Couldnt help but get barrelled. There were about 20guys on the peak in front of the carpark with about 5-6 on the peak at the next carpark(about 1km up the beach).I found a bank in between the other two and had it to myself.Couldnt get out of the water it was soooo good and well and truly dark by the time i'd finished.
This has got to be the best stretch of waves that i've had since i've been here, with 8-10 sessions since the new year and 7 of them in the very good to excellent range, with few or no other surfers. It is still cold in the water but it doesnt matter when the waves are of such high quality; Its not possible to get waves like this back home.So while i am still capable of surfing waves of this calibre, i'm staying put!!!!At my age , i'm not too sure how many years i can keep up to the standard neccesary to be able to surf these waves competently.I've already slowed down ,so there may not be much time left in these quick sucky waves.Anyway ,i'll enjoy as much as i can ,while i can!!
Not happy i didnt have my camera with me yesterday as proof
