Not a lot has happened this week. The weather has been unseasonally bad ,lots of rain ,the whole region has had record falls sinc mid may.The beaches between St Jean de Luz and Anglet were closed this week due to high bacteria levels. The rivers have all floodedand washed all sorts of debris, including full trees and toxins from the farmland and industry out into the ocean. The ocean is a muddy brown colour. Not very inviting.
I only surfed once this week.5-6ft onshore waves at Hossegor at the nudie beach. It was really rippy and i was the only one out.A few rip unwary travellers floated through the line up,but they dont really understand the rips and quickly got washed down to the left with the other guys.I felt like i was back at Gunnamatta with the rip running like a river.I had plenty of good waves and the swell had pulsed unexpectedly so most of the locals missed out. That happens here as the swell can rise quite rapidly with conditions ever changing. You need to look regularly as it can pulse with the tide and double in size in a couple of hours, even catching the forecasters unaware.
We're still waiting for the guy to come and empty the septic tank and he assures us that he will come tuesday(promises, promises) .Ineed him to empty the tank before i can do any more work on the house, as i want to drop the end wall right where the tank is.
Corinne and Lola havent been very well this week with Co needing a day off and antibiotics for a nasty throat infection. She probably should have taken the week off,but is snowed under at work right now. They are much better now but it still lingers a little.
Fathers day here today, but the weather is crappy so we're not sure what to do
