More good waves ,6ft and perfect.3 days of it at Capbreton with very few surfers, the best was sat urday morning 6 of us(only 1 french guy, rest were poms and aussies) pumping barrels that didnt have a drop of water out of place.Cold but well worth it.Its raining again !!!The weather here is enough to send a person silly.Like everywhere its unusual and everyone has had enough.

Still helping Lolas school with their swimming lessons once a week.Lots of fun with the french kids. Its good for my french as the kids throw it all at me!!!!

Received the results and certificate from my french test.I have a A1.1 level in french and passed with 99.5 per cent!!!It shows that it must have been easy!!
Spoke with Weiry a coupla times on his wedding day.So disappointed I cuoldnt make it.Best wishes to him and Mandy. And happy 50th you old bastard;Weve celebrated many birthdays together and its a shame to miss this one.

Woow, more bad weather with an incredible storm with winds of up to 170 kmh.We woke about 4am to amazingly strong winds that were shaking the house.Ive never encountered anything like it before. We rose after all sleeping together to see trees and power lines down everywhere we looked and still didnt want to venture outside as the wind was still pumping with gusts up to 100 ks.It was cold as we'd lost power and had no heating. We had a power line down in our driveway with bare wires and was about 50 mm thick-scary stuff.I rode down to our house to see we were quite lucky to have only lost one small panel-that i'd finished the day before. It could have been worse. It rained and blew for the next 5 -6 days.I sent Co and Lola to Biarritz for a coupla days coz all we had was an open fire and candles to live with ;Rob lent us his generator which gave us enough power for a coupla liights and tv.Small luxury but much appreciated.4 people were killed locally and 1.2 million homes without power.7 days later we had power back, what an experience!!2 weeks later and there are still many people without power. They must be going crazy.Winter in France without power is hard.Everywhere we go there are trees down in huge numbers. At least firewood will be cheap next year!

Well the snow has gone and our pipes have thawed and we hagain have hot water.Lola loved playing in the snowand had a ball doing so.We have beautiful weather ,sunny clear ,but still cold, about 7-9 degrees tops.

There were more good waves on the weekend 4-5 ft Left/right peaks. There was still snow on the beach but it wasnt too cold in the water with about 12 degree water temp

Its back to work but I have to wait till midmorning for the blocks to thaw.

BRRRRRR,oh so cold. -6 deg this morning. It snowed here yesterday. We had about 50mm in 4hrs.The roads are too icy to drive anywhere.I had to bring some firewood back from the other house by barrow coz i couldnt drive,Lola cant go to school, the roads are too dangerous to drive on.Lola is having a ball with her first encounter with snow, ooohh so happy!!!I cant lay bricks coz they are frozen. The next coupla days will be a little warmer(I hope)

Its a couple of days after xmas and i think I'm still digesting the feast that we had on xmas eve,8 courses with a different wine for every course.Sensational stuff prepared by Monique with some help by others, but she took control of the proceedings.I spoke with Kaye and mum near the end of the night and they had the pleasure of listening to Co's uncles singing some traditional Basque songs, quite typical ,more wine ,more songs.Santa was kind to Lola as usual

I had more great waves the 2 days before chrissy ,sitting, heaving barrels that were world class with only 3 of us out. There were quite a few watching but the french are a little soft when its cold in the morning and waited till the sun came out, pity coz it was over by the time they plucked up the courage to get into their wetsuits.Soooo Soft!!It was pretty cold at about 2-3 degrees, but the water was 14 deg so it was actually colder on the beach watching.Icant understand how they can walk away from waves of that quality, perfect barrels and not too big.

I'm laying blocks at the moment,so the walls are finally going up.You can see by the photos that i've stood posts up in the corners an next to openings to keep with the local Landaise style.

The weather is cold but at least its stopped raining

Had some amazing waves last week.It was the best session i've had since being here.5-6 ft stand up barrels,I was on my own and had 2hrs of waves that were amazing.I watched so many unridden waves go barrelling past i couldnt beleive i was out ther and had it to myself. That was the 3rd session in 5 days on my own but that was the standout session

Its been raining off and on for 5-6 weeks now and i've had enough!!!!!

I went up to the mountains with rob to his grange and helped him out with installing some shutters that i made and the frame for them and to fix up his front doors.Magnificent spot about 2 hours from here,a classic old stone barn .

Just got back online after 2more weeks of problems.Icant believe how many problems we have with the internet, and then for technical suppoort you have to pay 34 euro cents a min for, most calls are 20-30 mins and we have even had them hang up on us when they cant solve the problem. So frustrating
