The fete de Bayonne starts tomorrow so that means lots more people for the next week of madness. The party is a very old and traditional one in the same vein as Pamplona.Everyone wears red and white and then their white shirts are stained all over from all the red wine they spill on themselves. They party for a week.I'm not sure whether we will partake but there is a chance as Corinnes uncles have arrived in town and they love the fiesta traditional.
Pauline(my sister) arrives for the weekend and we are looking forward to seeing her. Some confit de canard,or some moule frites and maybe some foie gras with some fine wine will definitely be on offer.I'm looking forward to preparing some local delicacy for her to enjoy.
Our windows arrived yesterday, and surprisinly on time. The guy(who kept us waiting for 2 months last time)is coming tomorrrow to scrape the grass away from where i'm going to build.I hope it doesnt rain coz we might not see him for another coupla weeks if it does.
One more french lesson and i have 4 weeks holiday for summer.I have an assessment 8 sept to see whether i'm ready to take the real test to gain my certificate.Strange really, because they gave me the same test 5-6 months ago and passed easily.I've progressed a lot but in real terms still have so far to go before i can really say that i speak well.My french is passable but in some areas i really need to expand my vocabulary?which is hard when you have never needed to know the word.My new word is Taupe, which is a mole. We've got the little buggers in our garden and they are a huge problem here. They are haemophiliacs(so an old fella tells me) so i'm trying to fill up their holes with blackberry branches so they can bleed to death.sounds lovely doesnt it.
I'll keep you updated

G'day mate,
maybe you can encourage the Taupe to join in the festivities and leave himself with blood all over him. Sounds like a lot of fun.
One of the coldest winters I've had in 18 years in Sydney, snowed 6kms away from us on Sunday, & that's in the city area. Bombers had another good win on the weekend against those Pies, but I didn't pick them, bugger!!
Work is getting busier with a major reconfiguration of the Lexus stand for the Sydney Motor Show in October, so it's all go.
Had Dad & his wife, Barbara up to stay with us for 6 night, they're pretty self-sufficient but 4 people in the flat can be squeezy.
Keep up the correspondence mate, great to hear what you're doing.
Cheers!

Good to read all your news Ack.Sounds like you're settling in nicely over there. Not much seems to change over here so you're probably not missing too much.Bloody Bombers beat the Dees on the weeekend.(Just) We got ripped off by the umpires though.Ah well 2 wins for the season might be it for the Dees.
Went with the family to Bali in the July holidays. It was my first time over there & we all had a great time.We went with other friends & met up with the Whittys,Crowders, etc, etc.
Bumped into Spags out in the water. He was staying in the place next door.He hasnt changed much. Also saw Knuckles(Freddy Finch).
Simon Mantell is doing some work at my place at the moment. We're putting merbau decking around the verandah.
We're off to Alexandra Headland in 6 weeks so that should be good. The weathers been pretty cold here.I just got a new board & am trying to get a few more regular surfs.
Works got pretty full on again after a year or so of downturn due to the drought.
Kids are all growing up fast.Ruby is 17,Luke 16,Angus13 & Ivy is 10.
Anyway thats all for now.
Say Hi to Corinne & Lola.
